All faculty at Jackman ICS and Lab School teacher-researchers are committed to the institute's mission of combining scholarship, practice and professional education to improve the lives of children. Faculty are cross-appointed to OISE’s Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development, and are members of the Dr. R.G.N. Laidlaw Centre for research.
Our faculty hold doctoral degrees in developmental psychology and education or related areas; some faculty members have also held successful careers as teachers in elementary school classrooms before moving on to doctoral studies and university teaching.
Lab school teachers also participate in the Laidlaw Centre’s research activites. They bring rich knowledge of children and classrooms and the perspective of teacher-researchers to the research enterprise.
Students in the MA Child Study and Education program have the opportunity and are encouraged to become involved with faculty research projects.
